Learn to Sing Rock Really?

Many people have asked me if you can learn to sing rock. Well, there's a few things you can do to get you on your way. It's actually not as hard as some people make it out to be...There's three really important things you need to consider if you're serious about making this step.

1. First, practice breathing from your diaphragm. Even when you're not singing, you should practice breathing from your diaphragm and it's not hard. In fact, it will actually improve your health!

All you have to do is start enlargening your stomach when you breathe in. That's right, if you look down and see your stomach puffing out when you breathe in, you’re moving in the right direction.

Then when you become a little more comfortable breathing from the diaphragm, you can start taking inhales with your diaphragm and then singing out on the exhale. Just start practicing this and you’ll immediately start noticing that you’re holding notes longer and you’re using your throat less.

This is very important…Use your throat less while singing. Instead, start singing from your stomach/diaphragm.

2. Next thing I want to mention is imitating others when you learn to sing rock. We all love to sing to the radio and sing our favorite songs…And that’s o.k., but when you start singing with an original band, just use your natural voice.

Don’t try to imitate someone else because it’s blatantly obvious that isn’t your natural voice and it turns most people off. Trust me, just use your natural voice that you were born with…It sounds the best and it allows you to be more creative and confident.

One easy way to start doing this is by strumming an acoustic guitar and just humming and singing any made up words that come to mind. You’ll start to hear your own unique vocal sound while learning to sing. You’ll probably say “I don’t sound too bad”, which is true.

3. Lastly, Enthusiasm counts for a lot if you want to sing rock. You watch people like Axl Rose and Mick Jagger and you see the enthusiasm ooze from them. In addition, you see people like Bob Dylan singing in films when he was young. The guy supposedly had a “terrible” voice, but he sold millions of records.

How did he do that? Well, he was confident in what he was doing and he sang with enthusiasm. There’s countless other examples of singers who don’t have technically great voices, but they make great music with their voices because of their enthusiasm.

Hopefully, this article has given you a few pointers on singing well. Most online, advertised singing programs don’t really teach you to sing rock well. But if you want to learn to sing rock better, you might try the highest rated program the link below because it has an established track record.
